norman robertson chose to retire early from a very successful career in dentistry to follow his love of painting. with sailing in his blood perhaps not surprising that many of his 
paintings have their origins on or near the sea
tutored by Skip Lawrence the well-known East Coast American Artist, Topher Schink 
from the American West Coast and Serge Hollerbach of New York - a renowned figure 
painter and Honorary President of the American Watercolor Society, the artist spent his 
early years in Scotland and has been influenced by the work of the Scottish Colorists, 
and also the Fauves and the German Expressionists
he has won a number of prizes for his work and his paintings are in private collections in England, Wales, Scotland and the 
United States of America. his work has been exhibited in shows at Turner House Gallery, Penarth and St.Davids Hall Cardiff. 
he has also held two successful one man shows in 2001 and 2002, expressive vibrant colour, marine subjects
